Set with a Block Model of the German Steam Locomotive DR BR 52
Faithful Reproduction of a Historic Steam Locomotive
Open COBI's new "Trains" collection with this block model of the German DR BR 52 steam locomotive from World War II. The construction made of blocks faithfully reproduces the shape, proportions and details of the legendary steam locomotive, known to all railway enthusiasts around the world.
Details on a scale of 1:35
The 1:35 scale locomotive model includes detailed details such as symbols, numbering and markings, as well as numerous "clock" prints inside the locomotive's engine room. Thanks to the easily removable roof of the engine room, you can look inside to see faithfully reproduced details of the driving devices. We also took care of such a detail as the imitation of burning coal in the fireplace!
Realistic Wheel Mechanism
Just like in a real steam locomotive, the entire wheel mechanism is coupled so that it moves simultaneously. Inside the model there are gears that create a complex mechanism that ensures realistic movement of the wheels and the entire drive. Just gently push the model to move the entire system.
German Railwayman Figurine
The set also includes a figure of a German railwayman in a World War II uniform, adding even more historical realism to your collection.
Special Wheels and Compatibility
As many as five different wheel designs on the locomotive, some of which contain rims, i.e. special edges, make the model stay well on block tracks. It is also able to negotiate blocky bends with a slope ranging from R88. The model is fully compatible with tracks of other brands of blocks.
Tender and Track
Tender, a wagon for transporting, among other things, coal, also faithfully reflects the real prototype. Inside, it has a reproduced fuel composition, swivel wheel bogies and a special hitch to which additional wagons can be attached, creating a complete train.
The COBI company produced its own shape of a block imitating a fragment of the track. The set includes five such sections with a total length of approximately 65 cm. The track is made using modern two-color injection technology, which means that each individual section, approximately 13 cm long, is one element - a monolith, and is made of two different colors of material. The gray steel rails stand out clearly from the realistically made brown railway sleepers. There are no visible studs on each railway sleeper, which improves their realism, and each of them is covered with a board texture, imitation of wood grain. The tracks can be attached to construction boards and have a technical hole thanks to which the track can be permanently attached to the railway diorama, e.g. using a screw or nail.
Build History Block by Block
This set is the perfect gift for any history and railway enthusiast. Build the story, brick by brick!

History of the BR 52 locomotive
BR 52 is a freight steam locomotive of German design, produced in many European factories in the years 1942–1945. It was a very cheap, simple and at the same time very reliable steam locomotive. After World War II in Poland, over one thousand two hundred of these vehicles were used in the structures of the Polish State Railways. The locomotive could pull freight trains with a total weight of up to 620 tons at a speed of 80 km/h or 1,700 tons at a speed of 50 km/h. This steam locomotive was also used many times to pull passenger trains.
