MIG-17 is a Soviet fighter that played a key role in the air forces of 40 countries around the world. Its 1950s design made it one of the most recognizable aircraft of that era.

Technical Details

The plane was a single-seat, single-engine, medium-wing aircraft with a metal structure made of duralumin. It had slanted wings with characteristic three air flow vanes on each wing. The front air intake to the engine was divided by a vertical partition into two channels along the sides. The pilot's cabin was glassed and airtight, equipped with an ejection seat. The drive was one turbojet engine located at the rear. The armament included two 23 mm NR-23 guns and one 37 mm N-37D.
