In the initial period of production, the car was assembled from Soviet parts, only on September 19, 1953, the M-20 engine was assembled entirely from Polish parts.

In 1954, exports also began. Initially, the car was shipped to China, Romania, Albania and Bulgaria. Delivery vehicles: Żuk, Nysa and Tarpan were also constructed based on components dedicated to Warsaw.
