History of the Panzer IV Tank
The Panzer IV tank was developed in the 1930s by Krupp and entered service in 1939. Depending on the version, it weighed about 25 tons, was equipped with a 75 mm cannon and was operated by a five-person crew. It became a staple of the German armored forces thanks to constant modifications and improvements that allowed it to meet the challenges posed by Allied tanks and anti-tank weapons. Its production exceeded 8,000 units, making it one of the most produced German tanks during the war. The Panzer IV was used on all fronts, from the invasion of Poland in 1939, through the French campaign, fighting on the Eastern Front, to campaigns in North Africa and on the Western Front. Its agility and flexibility in various combat conditions made it one of the most valuable tanks in the Wehrmacht arsenal.
