Douglas™ C-47 Skytrain, also called "Dakota" (DACoTA, i.e. Douglas Aircraft Company Transport Aircraft), is one of the most popular transport aircraft from World War II. Produced by the USA, it was also used by other Allied countries. It was based on the design of the civilian version of the Douglas DC-3. The plane appeared on virtually all fronts of World War II, and its operation continued long after the war ended. It was used, among other things, for landing paratroopers and towing gliders, as well as for transporting supplies, ammunition and for evacuating the wounded. The COBI construction block model depicting the American Douglas™ C-47 Skytrain (Dakota) transport aircraft has been carefully developed on a scale of 1:48 and has movable elements such as rotating wheels with rubber tires, movable propellers and wing ailerons, and opening doors. Many blocks have permanent prints that do not wear off even with intensive use. The set includes two figurines of American soldiers: a pilot and a paratrooper from the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles" with a characteristic Mohawk on his head. The set also includes a plate with the name of the aircraft and a reinforced brick display base with transparent pins.
