M4 Sherman – Icon of World War II

The M4 Sherman is the basic American medium tank from World War II. Produced between 1942 and 1945, it became the most recognizable Allied tank! During the war, it was developed very dynamically. It was equipped with a 75 mm gun. Insufficient armament and a flammable engine made the Shermans initially an easy target for heavier German tanks. It was only after refining the structure that the roles were reversed. A total of approximately 49,000 units of all Sherman versions were produced. The tank was used, among others, by the armies of the USA, Great Britain, Poland, France and the USSR. It enjoyed a reputation as a reliable, easy-to-manufacture and well-armed tank.
